Inspiration
The inspiration for the design of the website was my trip to New Zealand and my hometown, Sheffield. The header image is an illustration of the Mount Cook Range in New Zealand's South Island, with a secondary illustration of the Northern Rata flower. Both illustrations are based on original photographs taken by me.
The illustration for the footer represents my personal view of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The hills are of course the most notable landscape feature of the area, as are the forests that accompany them. My parent's house, where I grew up, is situated on a hill outside of the city centre. The Tinsley Towers, Sheffield Cathedral and Town Hall are buildings which I believe represent Sheffield's history. The water, although originally intended as a simple aesthetic reflection, has come to remind me of the floods that hit Sheffield recently.
